Former Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, who is on a loan at AC Milan, was pulled out of his car by the Italian police as he was searched at gunpoint in the Porta Garibaldi area of Milan on July 3, according to a viral footage.

The 27-year-old French international was driving through Milan with a friend when he was allegedly stopped and searched by the Milanese police. The footballer was held at the gunpoint due to the shooting incident that took place in the area in previous hours as he matched the suspect's description.

Italian reporter Tancredi Palmeri tweeted the official statement of the Italian police headquarters which read, "The search, happened on July 3, was due to gun shooting happened in the area in previous hours, and the two suspected were two men on a suv fitting the description, one of the two was black and with green shirt. That’s why the gunpoint."

However, the Italian police instantly stopped the search after realizing the footballer is not the suspect.

Tiemoue Bakayoko moved to the Premier League club Chelsea for £40m in 2017 from Monaco. The midfielder played the 2017-18 season for the English club where he made 43 appearances before spending loan spells at AC Milan, Monaco and Napoli.
