During the second T20I of the three-match series between Australia and West Indies, the commentators Adam Gilchrist, Mike Hussey, and Mark Howard discussed about the upcoming IPL season. They spoke about how the CSK captain MS Dhoni is preparing for the upcoming tournament with a new bat sticker bearing a logo of his childhood friend’s “Prime Sports” shop.

The discussion began when Mike Howard asked the CSK batting coach Mike Hussey about when he will go over to India to resume his role with the reigning champions for the IPL 2024. After Mr Cricket stated that he would leave for India 10 days before the tournament around March 11th, he divulged the importance of the IPL, and how it has the best players from all over the world with unbelievable crowds at the grounds.

“Dhoni is back. He'd be hitting the balls in the nets already, I reckon,” Mike Hussey remarked when Mike Howard asked him about the status of the former Indian captain.

It led to Adam Gilchrist speak about how he watched MS Dhoni hit some balls in practice online with his new bat sticker bearing the “Prime Sports” logo, which is his way of giving back to his childhood friend Paramjit Singh, who had helped him get his first sponsorship deal around 20 years ago. The former Australian World Cup winner said, “Saw him hitting some balls the other day in the nets, Dhoni, with a new bat sticker on his bat, just a local sports store of one of his school mate's. Must have said ‘I'll whack your company name on my bat just to give you a little bit of a boost to sales’.”

Chennai Super Kings, the defending IPL champions, will be looking to add the sixth title to their tally in the 2024 season, to get past Mumbai Indians in the all-time championship win ladder. MS Dhoni is rumoured to be playing his last season of the IPL for the last few years, which is why it will be just as important for CSK to keep on winning the championship to give him the best possible send-off, as and when he decides to hang up his boots.

Also, Australia defended the massive score of 241 runs against West Indies at the Adelaide Oval, winning the second T20I by 34 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
