In the first match of the last double-header Saturday in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on April 19, the Gujarat Titans (GT) will host the table-toppers Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahemdabad. However, both teams are coming into this fixture on the back of contrasting results, they will be vying to go all out and get a win to their name.
Ahead of the fixture, GT head coach and former India cricketer Ashish Nehra engaged in a hilarious conversation with DC batter Abishek Porel. Known for his dry sense of humour since his playing days, Nehra brought another instance to the forefront along with his old teammates Munaf Patel and Hemang Badani, both of whom are a part of the DC setup in the IPL 2025.
Aja bhai last ball. Time up: Ashish Nehra abruptly ends Abishek Porel practise in nets ahead of GT vs DC
While having fun with his friends and former teammates, Indian pacer took everyone by surprise when he asked DC wicketkeeper-batter Abishek Porel to come out of the nets as his time was up. "Ye Abishek Porel hai na? Aja bhai last ball. (This is Abhishek Porel, right? Come out, this is your last ball) Done! Time up. Well done, good shot, now come out," Nehra can be heard saying in the video shared by DC on social media.

However, this came as a surprise as an opposition team member asked him to come out, but it was well planned as the incident left everyone in splits. Although, Porel’s expressions were not captured at this moment, but Nehra’s antics left DC skipper Axar Patel, along with Munaf Patel and Hemang Badani in splits.
Speaking of the two teams campaign so far in the tournament, the Delhi Capitals are comfortably sitting at the top of the points tables with five wins from six games, whereas, Gujarat Titans are third with four wins in as many matches. While a win for DC in today’s match, will make them the first team to get to 12 points, a win for GT will get them to 10 points.
