The second edition of the Legends League Cricket got a fairy-tale start on Saturday evening as India Capital's middle-order batter Ashley Nurse smashed a brilliant century in the first match of the competition at iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on September 17 (Saturday).

After World Giants opted to bowl first, India Capitals had a troublesome start till the 33-year-old Caribbean all-rounder played one of the finest innings in the shortest format as he went on to score an unbeaten 103 off 43 deliveries.

Ashley Nurse came to the crease when India Capitals was tottering at 74/5 in 11.5  overs but played a blinder on Saturday evening with the help of nine maximums and eight boundaries.

Interestingly, Ashley Nurse completed his impressive century with a six off Mitchell McClenaghan in the last over of the innings and guided India Capitals to 179/7 in 20 overs. For Gujarat Giants, KP Appanna, Rayad Emrit and Thisara Perera picked two wickets each.
