Tim Paine's sledge became historic after India won at Gabba

‘See you at the Gabba’ became a historic comment during India's tour of Australia. Actually, during the third Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, Australia Test team captain Tim Paine had made this comment. Paine was chirping from behind the stumps to distract a focused Ashwin at the crease.

Paine had said, “See you at Gabba mate,” to which Ashwin had replied, “Come to India, it will be your last series.” Despite banters, Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari batted out to save the third Test and kept the series alive. Paine's comments came to bite him in the last Test when India beat Australia by three wickets after batting heroics from Rishabh Pant (89*) and Shubman Gill (91).

Currently, Ashwin is a part of India's squad for the five-match Test series against England. He was not included in the playing XI for the first Test which was surprising for many after his county stint with Surrey. Ashwin bowled a beautiful spell in Somerset's second innings and recorded his best figures in the County Championship. Ashwin took 6 for 27 in the match and secured a win for his team.
