The English professional boxer Astrid Wett has announced that she will not be fighting at Misfits Boxing anymore after claiming to be treated like “absolute dog****,” at the Prime Card last October. Misfits X DAZN: The Prime Card event at the Manchester Arena in England saw Astrid Wett defend her Women’s Lightweight Championship against Alexia Grace via majority decision.
Notably, the highly-anticipated Prime Card from Misfits X DAZN on October 14, 2023, had Tommy Fury defeat KSI by a majority decision in the main event, while in the co-main event, Logan Paul dominated Dillon Danis but his victory was achieved via a disqualification. The celebrity boxing card was immensely successful for Misfits and DAZN, which reportedly had 1.3 million PPV buys.
Although Misfits Boxing managed to put on an impressive card in England last year, their Women’s Lightweight Champion Astrid Wett didn’t have a good time of it. She posted a seven-minute video on her official X account on Friday, January 19, claiming that the promotion forced her to fight while making a loss, and she only signed her contract just a few days before the scheduled title defence.
She was quoted as saying, “Misfits tell you that they pay their fighters well. They don’t. I was paid £12,000 to fight on that card, bearing in mind my training cost me £15,000 alone. They made their female champ fight for a loss on the biggest boxing influencer card of all time, by the way.”

Astrid Wett also claimed that Misfits threatened to not let her perform at the Prime Card if she didn’t headline their No. 9 event in Newcastle on seven days' notice.
“I don’t know whether they’re just sexist or not, but they boast about selling 1 million pay-per-views at £20 each on this card. So they made at least 20 million, yet they couldn’t afford to put my team in hotels. I had to pay for my own trainer and my own team to stay in a hotel for a week,” she added while deciding to leave Misfits Boxing.
The Co-President of Misfits Boxing, Mams Taylor took to his official X account to respond to the allegations from Astrid Wett with a GIF, which seemed like a dig at her.
