Notably, after Australia registered their sixth ODI World Cup title yesterday evening, at the expense of the hosts India, Richard Marles was at the post-match presentation alongside the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Both the esteemed dignitaries presented the CWC trophy to the winning Australian captain Pat Cummins.
The final of the CWC 2023 saw India post 240 runs on the board in their allotted 50 overs, which didn’t prove to be par for the course. Australia chased down the score with seven overs to spare, thanks to the epic hundred from Travis Head, which led to him becoming the player of the ODI World Cup 2023 final.
