On Monday, November 20, Richard Marles, the Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister of Australia, was spotted playing cricket in the premises of Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Just a day prior, the 56-year-old watched Australia defeat India by six wickets in the ODI World Cup 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
When he was playing cricket at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Richard Marles asked the people about whether Virat Kohli took cricket lessons there. As per the report from India Today, he made a trip to Virat Kohli’s cricket academy in Delhi, apart from tasting the famous street food at the roadside stalls, which included chaat delicacy, ram laddoo, and nimbu pani, among other things.

Notably, after Australia registered their sixth ODI World Cup title yesterday evening, at the expense of the hosts India, Richard Marles was at the post-match presentation alongside the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Both the esteemed dignitaries presented the CWC trophy to the winning Australian captain Pat Cummins.
The final of the CWC 2023 saw India post 240 runs on the board in their allotted 50 overs, which didn’t prove to be par for the course. Australia chased down the score with seven overs to spare, thanks to the epic hundred from Travis Head, which led to him becoming the player of the ODI World Cup 2023 final.
