Cricket is a very unpredictable game and the statement was proven right when an individual lost his life while playing in a local match. In an unfortunate incident, a batter passed away shortly after hitting a ball for a six in a match in Firozpur, Punjab.
In the heartbreaking video, which has been making rounds on social media, the batter looked good and whacked the ball for a six. Shortly after completing his shot, he walked in the middle of the pitch and went down on his knee. He was soon joined by the batter from the non-striker’s end. As the two shared a few words, the striker quickly lost his consciousness and went down on the ground.

Soon after he lost his consciousness, players rushed to help him. While some attempted CPR, a few others also threw water. However, he failed to regain conciousness and died instantly. The victim has been identified as Harjeet Singh.
This is not the first instance that we have seen on the cricket field. Over the last few months, several have lost their life on the cricket field. In November 2024, a young cricketer from maharashtra died on field due to a cardiac arrest. A cricketer named Imran Patel collapsed during the match at the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. However, he was quickly taken to the hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.
In June 2024, another instance was recorded. The victim, who was identified as Ram Ganesh Tewar, collapsed soon after hitting a six in the match organised by a company in Mumbai.
