The Derbyshire Falcons continue their incredible Vitality Blast campaign as they registered a thumping seven-wicket win over Birmingham Bears at Edgbaston. The Falcons now have registered their fourth consecutive victory as they comfortably beat the Bears who had a tournament-record total against Notts Outlaws only two days earlier.

Though the defeat wasn’t the only thing that hurt the Bears in the game as their captain Carlos Brathwaite received an unnecessary penalty. While bowling in the 13th over, the West Indian all-rounder bowled a good length delivery to Wayne Madsen who played the ball straight back to him and was looking for a single.

Here Carlos Brathwaite stopped the ball and threw it straight back at the stumps which hit the batter. Because of this incident, the Bears were given a five-run penalty. Madsen then continued batting and scored a match-winning knock of 55 runs from 34 balls which included five fours and three sixes.

The way he talks about the game is a big help: Hain

But Carlos Brathwaite has been incredible as the leader of the Bears this season. Birmingham batter Sam Hain talked about Brathwaite's impact on the team as he said, "We all know that T20 is certainly a funny game and I was so close to getting an edge trying a ramp right at the start of my innings."

“I could easily have been out in the first four or five deliveries. I was probably more anxious batting than about defending the target. We are a more confident team these days at T20 which is a credit to Carlos Brathwaite. The way he talks about the game is a big help.”
