Cricketing fraternity witnessed another unbelievable moment when Bradley Currie pulled off a flying effort to take a stunning catch during one of the games of Vitality Blast 2023. With what is being hailed as one of the best catches in the history of white-ball cricket, Benny Howell was made to take a walk back to the pavilion. Not only this, but the catch also proved to be a decisive factor as Howell had pulled off 25 runs off 13 balls.
Playing in his first T20 Blast game for Sussex, Currie created one of the best cricketing highlights of all time. Hampshire were chasing 183 for victory and they were in need of 23 off 11 balls. Batting for his team, Howell faced Tymal Mills and hit out with a flat and fast sweep that was meant to reach the boundary. However, in came running Currie who covered some distance within a few seconds before he jumped to take a flabbergasting catch.

Speaking of the game, Sussex came in to bat first and put up 183 runs at a loss of six wickets. On their side, it was Oliver Carter’s innings of 64 off 33 balls that helped them set a big target for their rivals. The catch by Currie proved to be the difference in the result and Sussex ended up winning the game by six runs. This was Sussex’s third win in nine games of the season as well as Hampshire’s fourth defeat in nine games. Talking of the standings, Hampshire occupy fourth spot on the table whereas Sussex are at eight.
