The fans at the Stadium 974 also paid tribute to the legend in the stands. Earlier there were reports of the legend being moved to end-of-life care after he reportedly stopped responding to the chemotherapy . However, the 82-year-old took to Instagram to share a message after such reports took the internet by blow.

“My friends I want to keep everyone calm and positive thinking. I’m strong, very hopeful, and following my treatment as usual. I want to thank the whole medical and nursing team, for all the zeal I’ve been receiving. I have a lot of faith in God and every message of love I receive from you, coming all over the world, keeps me full of energy”, he wrote.

The only player to win three World Cups (1958, 1962 & 1970), Pele also said that he is watching Brazil in the World Cup.
