On Friday, December 27, legendary WWE star CM Punk rushed in a towel and shower cap to save Damien Priest from assault at the WWE’s Holiday Tour Event. As Punk made his return to the WWE, he gave his fans a perfect blend of entertainment and action, which left them nostalgic and buzzing at Madison Square Garden. After his match with Ludwig Kaiser, Punk put his hilarious side on display as he made a surprise entrance in the show. He was dressed in a towel and shower cap and came in running to the ring.
Punk helped Damian Priest, who was being ambushed by Kaiser and Dominik Mysterio. The video of the WWE legend’s hilarious video went viral all across social media, leaving fans and WWE fanatics in awe of his unexpected side. WWE also took to their Instagram to share a clip of Punk’s post-match cameo, and captioned it, “Shower Power.”
CM Punk pays tribute to John Cena in clash against Ludwig Kaiser
Earlier in the evening, Punk paid tribute to John Cena with a parody of the latter’s signature moves during his match. He also hit his famous Go To Sleep (GTS) to secure the victory. Notably, Punk and Cena share a glorious history, which includes their memorable bout at the 2011 Money in the Bank Pay-Per-View. With Cena gearing up for his final leg of his career, fans speculate that there would be at least one last showdown between these superstars.
The match showcased Punk’s ability to be serious but also let loose, which proved that he hasn’t lost anything and is more relaxed during his current WWE campaign. With this side of Punk, the WWE Universe seems to be more thrilled, given how he left last time with a reputation of allegedly causing rifts and being a difficult person to work with.
