American tennis star Coco Gauff began her doubles campaign with her partner Jessica Pegula in the Canadian Open 2023 on August 9, Wednesday (IST). However, her doubles match took a hilarious turn when she accidentally hit her partner Pegula while serving. Gauff and Pegula took on the Indonesian pair of Aldila Sutjiadi and Miyu Kato in the round of 16 in the WTA 1000 event.
In their first doubles game in Montreal, the American pair made a solid comeback in the game and clinched the victory despite losing the first set to their Indonesian rivals. With their 6-7(3), 6-1, [10-3] win, the Gauff-Pegula pair advanced to the quarterfinals of the tournament.

However, a tense game between the American and Indonesian tennis stars got a humorous touch when the 19-year-old tennis star accidentally hit her partner while serving. The defending champions and top-seeded pair started off their year on a brilliant note as they made it to the semifinals of the Australian Open and later won Qatar Open and Miami Open.
Not only this, but the Americans reached the finals of the Madrid Open and Rome Open. Later at the French Open 2023, the pair made it to the semifinals of the tournament.
