The Indian Sports Honours have been a showpiece event which celebrates Indian athletes across multiple disciplines. In this year’s award ceremony, fans were presented with an incredible as Indian comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi was seen touching Virat Kohli’s feet. The function took place at the JW Marriot in Juhu, Mumbai on Thursday, 23rd March 2023 and will now be televised on March 26.

The awards saw a galore of star athletes and famous personalities, who were seen interacting with one another. In one such interaction, Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma were spotted chatting with comedians Anubhav Singh Bassi, Abhishek Upamanyu and Kusha Kapila. Here, Bassi was captured jokingly touching Kohli’s feet. Subsequently, Virat hugged him showing a big heart.

Apart from Virat and Anushka, Bollywood celebrities like Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were also at the Indian Sports Honours. The Bollywood power couple was seen on the red carpet with Deepika’s father Prakash Padukone, a legendary Indian badminton player, ahead of the event.


Talking about the awards ceremony, the 2023 edition will serenade athletes who made India proud in their respective sports in the period of January 1, 2021, and February 28 2023. This will be the fourth edition of the Indian Sports Honours as the awards were first started in 2017. The Second Edition was held on September 27 2019. Due to the pandemic, the third edition was an online affair broadcast on 23rd July 2021.
