Cricket is game of uncertainties, undoubtedly. Among many such is the incident of mankading, which has become quite prominent mode of dismissal these days. Recently in a local cricket match, a cricketer mankad the non-striker on the last ball of the innings.

Although the video of the incident is going viral now, it can be seen that the cricketer was pre-empting to try gain some undue advantage and steal a run, but the presence of mind and the quick response led to a wicket.

Indian veteran Ravichandran Ashwin, who attempted it for the first noticeable time during one of the Indian Premier League editions as he tried to dismiss Jos Buttler at the non-striker’s end, has been vocal about the same. The Indian cricketer also took to Twitter to share the video of this bizarre run-out as he praised the cricketer.

Ashwin, who shared the video of this dismissal, captioned the post, “Winning dismissal. More awareness and mindfulness required towards the closing stages of a game.”

It is to be noted that R Ashwin missed out a place in the Asia Cup squad as Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar along with skipper Rohit Sharma announced a 17-member squad for the 50-over Games. The 50-over edition of the Asia Games will be played across two countries in Pakistan and Sri Lanka from August 20 till September 17.
