Cristiano Ronaldo netted a first half hat-trick for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League to help them secure 8-0 win over Abha at the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium on Tuesday, April 2. The Portuguese footballing star has 29 goals to his name in the Saudi Pro League, while Alexander Mitrovic of Al-Hilal is in second place with 22 goals.
In the 11th minute, Cristiano Ronaldo converted a freekick under the wall to start the scoring spree for Al-Nassr, following it up ten minutes later with another freekick that went through a wall gap. Sadio Mane tripled the lead for Al-Nassr in the 33rd minute through a Cristiano Ronaldo assist before the multi-time Ballon d’Or winner dinked Ciprian Tatarusanu in the goal nine minutes later, to complete his first half hat-trick.
The final goal involvement for Cristiano Ronaldo, on a day he scored his 65th career hat-trick, came in the 44th minute when he provided an assist to Abdulmajeed Al-Sulaiheem. It meant that Al-Nassr went into the first half with a 5-0 lead when the 39-year-old was subbed off.
Despite playing the second half without Cristiano Ronaldo, who took to his official Instagram account to celebrate his hat-trick later on, Al-Nassr kept the foot on the gas pedal, giving Abha no respite in the deep defence. Abdulrahman Ghareeb scored the sixth goal for the visitors in the evening in the 51st minute, finding the top corner.
The substitute at half-time for Al-Nassr, Abdulaziz Al-Aliwa scored twice in the second half to cap off a great performance for his team, who walked away with an 8-0 win against Abha. As far as the Saudi Pro League standings are concerned, Al-Nassr are in a lonely second place with 62 points in 26 matches, 12 behind the undefeated leaders Al-Hilal.
