Saudi Pro League side, Al Nassr progressed forward in the AFC Champions Cup after beating Yokohama F Marinos by a 4-1 scoreline in the quarter-finals. Al Nassr’s talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo was also on the scoresheet, scoring one goal during his club’s victory. While the goal was a rather ordinary one where Ronaldo pounced on a mistake from the opponent’s keeper to slot home an easy tap-in on the rebound; the celebration performed by the Portuguese star post the goal has caught the attention of fans.

After scoring in the 38th minute, Ronaldo walked behind and the goal and sat on the chain of advertising boards, placed on the perimeter of the entire field, and looked towards the fans. The celebration drew attention for the fact that it was the same one that Ronaldo performed after one of his goals in a Real Madrid jersey, back in 2017. While the goal took Ronaldo’s overall career tally to 934, it was an extremely nostalgic moment for fans across the world.

Al Nassr progresses to semi-finals of AFC Champions Cup

Al Nassr produced a dominant performance to defeat Yokohama F. Marinos 4–1 in the AFC Champions League Elite 2025 quarter-final on April 26 in Jeddah. From the opening whistle, Al Nassr asserted control, with Jhon Duran pouncing on a defensive lapse to score the opener. Sadio Mane then doubled the advantage with a clinical finish. Cristiano Ronaldo, determined to end a long wait for continental success, added a third before halftime with a well-taken goal.

Early in the second half, Duran grabbed his second of the night, putting the result beyond doubt. Kota Watanabe managed to pull one back for the Japanese side but was later sent off after picking up a second yellow card, further adding their woes. This convincing victory sends Al Nassr into the semi-finals, where they will meet the winner of Kawasaki Frontale vs. Al-Sadd. With Cristiano Ronaldo back in form, Al Nassr now look strong contenders for their first continental title.
