Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo unveiled a new celebration as his club Al-Nassr recorded a 1-0 triumph over fellow Saudi Arabian club Al-Fayha. The celebration came as Ronaldo scored his first goal of 2024 to give his side an edge in the first leg of the Asian Champions League round of 16. In addition, the sole goal from the game night marked Ronaldo’s fourth strike in the season in his fifth game in the tournament.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner now holds the record of scoring a goal in every year from 2002 to 2024. Ronaldo’s goal came in the 81st minute of the game when he played a neat one-two with Marcelo Brozovic. The former Inter Milan midfielder lifted his return pass over the Al-Fayha backline from the end of the box for Ronaldo to hit past the rival goalkeeper.

Following his goal, the 39-year-old unveiled a brand-new celebration instead of performing his trademark celebration ‘siuuu’, leaving fans and commentators intrigued. Needless to say, the unique celebration went viral all over social media within no time.

Al-Nassr’s victory in the clash against Al-Fayha marked Cristiano Ronaldo’s 796th victory of his career, which is the most in history. Apart from that, the match also marked Ronaldo’s 1000th appearance for his club.
