During the UFC 300 post-fight press conference, Dana White announced that Conor McGregor will be taking on Michael Chandler in the main event of UFC 303 on June 29. This fight will mark the return of Conor McGregor, the former two-division champion, inside the octagon in nearly three years, and the announcement brought the MMA fans glued on X.

The Irishman Conor McGregor last fought in UFC in the summer of 2021, breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier, and since then, he recovered from injury, planning and plotting his return inside the octagon. Now, with the latest announcement from the UFC President, McGregor will finally get the chance to compete against Chandler in a five-round bout at 170 pounds, to cap off the International Fight Week at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

While speaking in the UFC 300 post-fight press conference, Dana White built up the anticipation before announcing the big fight and said, “June 29th, Conor vs Chandler, five rounds, 170 pounds,” prompting the members of the press to hoot and cheer. Notably, Conor McGregor was “holding hope” to fight inside the octagon on June 29 during a fan interaction on his official Instagram account, and ultimately he got what he wished for.
