Madhya Pradesh are on the cusp of history in the Ranji Trophy final against Mumbai on Saturday. While they restricted Mumbai to 374 in the first innings, they have already breached the 500-run mark in the summit clash of the Premier first-class cricket competition and on the basis of the first-innings lead, this is set to a historic moment for Madhya Pradesh Cricket as they look set to be crowned as the champions.

Despite MP being the favourites to emerge as the champions from here, one of the big talking points on the fourth and final day of the Ranji Trophy final was the rather surprise entry into the stadium of India pacer Deepak Chahar. Notably, while Chahar is recovering from an injury, he is at the National Cricket Academy facility in Bengaluru which is at M Chinnaswamy Stadium premises in Bengaluru.

Chahar was seen enjoying the match while watching the final day's cricket between MP and Mumbai. The fans at the stadium were quick to spot the Chennai Super Kings pacer on the ground and started chanting his name. A video of him at the stadium has surfaced online.

While it was Mumbai's Sarfaraz Khan who scored a fighting hundred in the first innings to keep them alive in the match, Madhya Pradesh were superb with the bat and had all the answers to the questions posed by Mumbai bowlers. Yash Dubey, Shubham Sharma and Rajat Patidar all scored hundreds and have brought Madhya Pradesh close to a historic Ranji Trophy win.
