Misfits Boxing's women's middleweight champion Elle Brooke retained her title against former UFC star Paige VanZant on Saturday, May 25 at the NRG Arena in Houston, Texas. During the main event at the Misfits Boxing X Series 15, the TikTok star pulled off an upset on VanZant, who appeared in her first professional boxing fight, by dropping her on the canvas in the first round to complete her first defense in a controversial result.
In the first round, Brooke, who captured the women's middleweight title after knocking out her old rival AJ Bunker in Round 3 in their January 2024 rematch, floored her opponent with a right hook. However, VanZant, who stepped into a boxing ring after three years, recovered quickly and fought back in the remaining four rounds.
