Defending champions Manchester City thrashed Liverpool 4-1 in the Premier League 2022-23 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. Both the teams have scored a goal each to end the first half as Julian Alvarez scored the equalizer for the home side after Mohamad Salah's opening goal. However, Man City striker Erling Haaland's celebration has gone viral on social media after his teammate scored a much-needed equaliser.

Liverpool forward Mohamad Salah opened the scoring in the 17th minute to put the Reds on the front foot. Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold lifted over the top for Diogo Jota, who was unable to get a shot due to Manuel Akanji's tight defense. The 26-year-old Portuguese held the ball, blocking Akanji, as Salah made a free run and snipped the ball past Ederson.

In a response, Man City took just 10 minutes to score an equaliser as Jack Grealish received the ball from Ilkay Gundogan on the left flank and provided a low cross with his first touch. The 23-year-old World Cup winner then tapped it in past Alisson Becker to score the equalizer.
