The Men in Green are still fighting for a place in the semifinals as they are playing New Zealand at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. While the Babar Azam-led side won the toss, they invited the Kiwis to bat first, who posted 401 runs on the board, courtesy a brilliant ton from Rachin Ravindra and a crucial 95-run knock from skipper Kane Williamson.

While Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson did the talking for New Zealand to help them put their second highest team total in ODIs, Fakhar Zaman did the part for Pakistan. Coming down to open the innings alongside Abdullah Shafique, Zaman went upto register a ton, becoming the fastest to hit World Cup hundred from Pakistan. His ton came from 63 balls, the opening batter went onto perform Sajda post his crucial knock.

The 33-year-old took off his helmet as he soaked in the round of applause from all over and performed the sajda.

Talking about Pakistan, the Babar Azam-led side has won only three games from seven matches played so far in the tournament with their semifinals hopes still alive. The team is sixth in the points table with six points, only above Sri Lanka, Netherlands, Bangladesh and England.
