But if the team is to make a run at the playoffs, Messi will need to have a seismic influence on the pitch. In the new Leagues Cup, a competition that brings together all the top-tier teams from Major League Soccer and Liga MX in Mexico, Messi is anticipated to make his debut on Friday against Cruz Azul.

The fan who was watching the Inter Miami vs St Louis City game from the stadium was shown by the broadcasters during the 40th minute of play. Judging by the attire, the fan was clearly a St Louis fan and was cheering for the team. As soon as the fan was captured by the camera, he showed a hilarious edited picture of Lionel Messi. Messi and Inter Miami have 12 games scheduled from August 20 to October 21, giving them the chance to earn 36 points.
