Team India won two matches in two days in the Super 4s stage in the Asia Cup 2023 as they thrashed Pakistan by a 228-run margin on Monday while they defeated Sri Lanka in Colombo by 41 runs on Tuesday, September 12. Talking about the game, India defeated Sri Lanka by 41 runs after placing a below-average total of 213 runs considering their previous target of over 350 runs against Pakistan. Rohit Sharma (53), KL Rahul (39), and Ishan Kishan (33) helped India to achieve a fighting total as Sri Lankan youngster Dunith Wellalage dismissed five big players including Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Hardik Pandya.

During the chase, Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj produced three wickets in the first 10 overs while Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja spun a web around the Sri Lankans to combine for six wickets. The 63-run partnership between Dhananjaya de Silva (41) and Wellalage (42*) for the seventh wicket brought a light of hope for the island nation, but India spinners clinched the match for their side.
