The World Test Championship Final 2021-23 has reached a crucial stage. After full four days of play, the Rohit Sharma & Co. N eeds 280 runs to win the match and lift the Test mace. While it was Australia, who dominated majority of the Test match so far, Day 4 proved to be some sigh of relief for the Men in Blue as the stand in good position.

 

However, all sounded well till the first half of the Day 4 but as things turned after Cameron Green dismissed Shubman Gill with a catch in the slips. Fans, cricket experts and enthusiast all went berserk after the third umpire Richard Kettleborough  announced it to be Out on the wide screen during the match.

 

Things took a turn soon after that and Cameron Green also received cheat chants after this moment. The Australian pacer, who took the bowling after Gill’s wicket was surrounded by chants of cheating after this controversial catch. Fans present at the Oval hurled chants, “Gali Gali mein shor hai, Cameron Green chor hai”.

Virender Sehwag takes a dig at controversial dismissal

 

This incident did not only leave fans furious, but former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag also voiced his opinion after Gill’s dismissal. As several believed that the evidence of this dismissal was inconclusive, so did Sehwag. The cricketer took to social media to assert, “Third umpire while making that decision of Shubman Gill. Inconclusive evidence. When in doubt, it’s Not Out.”

Talking about the match, India needs  280 runs to win with the match going into the final day of the WTC Final. The side also has seven wickets in hand with Virat Kohli (44 off 60) and Ajinkya Rahane (20 off 59) in the middle.
