It has been more than two months since India clinched the T20 World Cup 2024 title. After winning the ICC trophy, the Men in Blue received one of the grandest welcomes when they landed in India. Meanwhile, ahead of the Ganesh Chaturthi, fans in Mumbai recreated the Men in Blue’s victory parade which took place on July 4. In a video going viral on social media, fans recreated the celebration with the cut outs of players who were part of the T20 World Cup winning side.
The video featured an idol of Lord Ganesha and T20 World Cup winning captain Rohit Sharma’s placard being mounted on the top of a vehicle. The vehicle was decorated like the victory parade bus that was used during the Indian team’s celebrations in Mumbai following the ICC tournament win.

India were crowned T20 World Cup champions after long gap of 17 years
In June this year, the Rohit Sharma-led side went to the USA and the Caribbean Islands with a mission to win the T20 World Cup for the first time after 2007. During the tournament, they were unbeaten and became the first team to win the tournament without losing a single game. In the final, they beat first-time finalists, South Africa by seven runs.
Owing to this, they managed to break the cycle of ICC title drought which haunted the team since 2014. Before the T20 World Cup 2024, the Men in Blue won the Champions Trophy 2013 under the leadership of MS Dhoni. After this, India came close to winning different ICC tournaments but failed to do so.
