During the second division of the Argentina football league system, the Primera Nacional match between Independiente Rivadavia and Mendoza city rivals Deportivo Maipu on Sunday, fans set off fireworks at the stadium minutes before the full-time. The league is in midway as Rivadavia hosted Maipu at the Juan Bautista Gargantini Stadium for a crunch table-top clash on June 4.

The home outfit, Independiente Rivadavia went on to beat the visitors, Deportive Maipu 2-1 as Argentine defender Juan Manuel Elordi opened the scoring for the hosts before the half-an-hour mark while  Paraguayan forward Alex Adrián Arce Barrios doubled the lead for the home side in the 84th minute. Just two minutes after the hosts took a 2-0 lead, the 24-year-old Argentine midfielder, Marcelo Eggel scored the only goal for the visitors.

With just a few minutes remaining into the game, the home fans set off fireworks at the stadium while the match was still underway in its stoppage time. Although it looked like the home side will take the three points, we have witnessed some major upsets in football. Fortunately, Rivadavia managed to win the game and didn't play a spoilsport in the fans' celebration. The video footage of the final minutes was scary yet exciting to watch as the fans turned the football field into a warzone with the fireworks.
