Joburg Super Kings (JSK) skipper Faf du Plessis flexed his athletic skills and went on to take a flying catch to dismiss Sunrisers Eastern Cape opener David Bedingham in the ongoing Eliminator of the South Africa T20 (SA20) 2025 at SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium in Centurion. Batting first, Bedingham gave a fiery start to Sunrisers with a quickfire 27(14) runs. However, in an attempt to hit Imran Tahir for a boundary, the opening batter found Du Plessis on the way and JSK skipper ended up taking an unbelievable catch.

During the 5th over of the Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s innings, Imran Tahir who was bowling his first over of the match, bowled a slower one from the off-stump line from over the wicket angle. In reply, David Bedingham attempted to play the inside out on the front foot and it was looking like a good shot. However, Faf du Plessis, who was placed at mid-off launched himself towards left and ended up grabbing a stunned to dismiss dangerous looking David Bedingham.

Aiden Markram’s captain’s knock guide Sunrisers Eastern Cape to total of 184/6 in Eliminator

Coming to bat first after losing the toss in the SA20 2025 Eliminator, Sunrisers Eastern Cape skipper Aiden Markram played a captain’s knock as his team posted a competitive total fo 184/6 against Joburg Super Kings. The Sunrisers got a flying start as David Bellingham (27 off 14) and Tony de Zorzi (14 off 9) added 46 runs for the first wicket in 3.2 overs. After that, the defending champions went on to lose quick wicket and were reduced to 75/4 after 9 overs. 

After that, skipper Aiden Markram took charge of the innings and scored an unbeaten 62*(40) runs hitting five fours and two sixes. Along with Markram, Tristan Stubbs also scored 26(21) runs while Marco Jansen gave finishing touches with 23(12) as Sunrisers Eastern Cape posted 184/6 in their 20 overs. Now, Joburg Super Kings require 185 runs to knockout Sunrisers out and make it to the second qualifier.
