The League One match between title contenders Portsmouth and Derby County was interrupted by a fox who trotted across Fratton Park. The crucial top-of-the-table clash ended 2-2 with the Pomey sitting comfortably with 87 points while having a game in hand. In contrast, Derby is five points behind in the second place and has played an extra game.

The incident occurred in the first half when the Rams  were in possession when the  fox  ran alongside the goal-line in front of the Fratton End. The Vulpine's  appearance  in Portsmouth  was a short one as the play quickly resumed on a cold and windy night on the south coast.

Derby's Joe Ward opened the scoring in the 23rd minute before Abu Kamara quickly slotted home to bring Pompey level in a space of four minutes.  Soon  Ward completed his brace, putting Derby in the lead again but substitute Moxon's stunning long-range strike in the second half helped Portsmouth settle for a 2-2 draw.

Speaking about this performance to BBC,  Portsmouth manager John Mousinho said,  "It was a pretty good performances against a really good side, we take the point and let's follow it up with a win at the weekend.  The first goal was a brilliant move, I'm really pleased with that and the second goal.  The penalty shout looked stonewall for me involving Tino Anjorin but regardless we have put ourselves in a really good position with the result."
