The New Zealand men’s team has been cruising in the tri-series tournament with Pakistan and Bangladesh. The Kiwis are at the top of the table after defeating both teams comfortably in their three matches. Recently, a video from the Blackcaps’ game against Bangladesh has gone viral where batter Glenn Phillips hit a girl in the stands as he smashed the winning six at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch.

But what Phillips did after this accident has won hearts on the internet. The 25-year-old after seeing the injured fan rushed to the boundary line immediately and checked up on her as it hit  the 12-year-old girl right above the eye. According to fans in the stadium, the Kiwi batter spent over 20 minutes with the injured girl and also signed autographs for other audience members in the stadium.

Addressing the situation of the fan, a NZ Cricket spokesperson talked about how the girl was normal and was taken to the Christchurch Hospital. The statement said, "She was lucid and had been assessed by doctors at the ground. She would now go to Christchurch Hospital for further checks."

Even the fans reacted to this gesture, while some even shared Sophie Devine's gesture from the 2020 Super Smash.

Talking about the game, the home team put forth an all-around performance to take down Bangladesh by eight wickets. The BlackCaps decided to bowl and had a cracking start by dismissing Mehidy Hasan Miraz for just five. The Bangla Tigers tried retaliating but were put on the mat by the Kiwi attack.

Trent Boult, Tim Southee, Michael Bracewell and Ish Sodhi picked up two wickets each and reduced the visitors to 137 in their 20 overs. In the second innings, Bangladesh dismissed Finn Allen early but could not contain the scintillating batting display by Devon Conway, who scored 70 in 51 balls. In the end, it was an explosive Glenn Phillps' cameo of 23 in nine balls that sealed the New Zealand win.
