Hardik Pandya played a gem of an innings in the all-important game against Pakistan as the all-rounder scored a quickfire 33* off just 17 balls. Pandya also hit the winning run as he deposited a flatter delivery from Mohammad Nawaz deep into the stands. The 28-year-old had claimed three wickets with the ball as well. On the back of Pandya’s all-round show, India beat Pakistan by five wickets.

With the memories of the 2021 T20 World Cup loss still afresh in the heads of Indian fans, this win worked as therapy for them. Each and every Indian cricket team fan was chuffed to bits with this win and they showed it by cheering loudly for the team. As Hardik Pandya played a pivotal role in the win, fans did not shy away from expressing their love for the Indian all-rounder.

Hardik also accepted all the love and cheer with grace as he casually walked around the stands and greeted his fans after the match was over. A video of Pandya interacting with the fans was shared on social media. While he posed for photos with some of the fans, Pandya gracefully accepted the Indian flag handed by one of them.

As India have started their campaign on a high at the Asia Cup 2022, the defending champions are looking set to lift their eighth title. On top of that, there are chances that India will play Pakistan two more times in the tournament. If India and Pakistan both manage to reach the final of the continental tournament (which they are most likely to do), both teams’ fans will be more than excited to see an epic clash.

But if they don’t meet in the final, the two teams will shortly face each other, at the 2022 T20 World Cup. India and Pakistan will open their campaign at the biennial tournament on 24 October against each other.
