Prior to the second WODI between England and India at iconic Lord’s in London, Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues were seen making a video call to their former senior colleague Jhulan Goswami. India will look to be at their best in the second match to beat the hosts and take an unassailable lead in the series. If this happens, it will be India’s second consecutive WODI series success on English soil. Earlier, in 2022, India whitewashed England in the three-match series.
In a video conversation with the former India pacer, Kaur and Rodrigues recalled their memories of playing together with Goswami at Lord’s in September 2022. It was the WODI match which became Jhulan’s last appearance in international cricket. "So good to see you again. Guess where we are," Harmanpreet and Jemimah said in the clip. "We miss you Jhulu di," said Jhulan. "Same here, I’m also missing you guys, I wish I was there watching this game from the stands," responded Goswami. Team India skipper said, "We will miss your Lord’s spell tomorrow."

Goswami also remembered India’s famous 3-0 success against the English side in 2022. She wants India to replicate their three-year old heroics again in England. "I’m gonna miss you guys. It was a great memory. We won 3-0 for the first time in England. I hope you guys do that same. Repeat that same. You’ve got great momentum on your side," added Jhulan.
Jhulan Goswami’s illustrious WODI career for India
Jhulan Goswami served India from 2002 to 2022 and during those 20 years, she played 204 WODIs, which is the second-most appearances by any India player in women's cricket. She is also the most-successful bowler for India with 255 wickets in 204 outings at a frugal economy of 3.37.
In 2022, she retired from all forms of the sport. Her record is magnificent in England. Showing up in 59 WODIs in the country, she is the most-successful bowler with 78 wickets in 59 matches. After retirement, she became Mumbai Indians (MI) bowling coach and mentor in the Women’s Premier League (WPL).
