Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan has made his acting debut with a Tamil film titled ‘Cobra’ the trailer of which was released on Thursday. The 37-year-old former India pacer who used to surprise batsmen with his swinging deliveries has now surprised his fans by nailing the scenes assigned to him in the movie. Notably, the movie will be released on 31 August across the country.

In the limited glimpses of Pathan who is playing an Interpol agent from Turkey, the cricketer looks completely submerged in his role. The name of the character played by Pathan is Aslan Yilmaz. He is also seen doing an action sequence wherein he holds two revolvers in each hand and fires at the target. Although there is not any dialogue shown involving Pathan, the 37-year-old looks promising in all the scenes.

Pathan had shared his experience after completing the shooting and had said that he had an amazing time working alongside one of the superstars of the industry. He had also lavished praise on Chiyaan Vikram for the latter’s simplicity. "What I love about Vikram is, he is a very simple man after all the success he had. Whenever I meet him on the sets, we used to have a wonderful time,” said Pathan.

Notably, Cobra is an R. Rahman musical, directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu Tamil film that will be starring famed South Indian actor Chiyaan Vikram and KGF fame Shrinidhi Shetty. The film is an action thriller that portrays Vikram in more than 20 different, and unique, avatars. Playing the role of an Interpol agent, Pathan will be the antagonist in the film.
