During the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in Ahmedabad, Ishant Sharma and Ashutosh Sharma were seen having a heated exchange with each other. Bowling first after winning the toss, GT saw themselves getting hammered by Delhi players who batted with a fierce approach. In Ahmedabad’s extreme summer, Ishant was seen struggling due to heat waves. The veteran pacer couldn’t complete his four-over quota and returned to the dugout after bowling only three overs. Before completing his third over, Ishant looked enervated, and had to be treated for probable dehydration.

It was the penultimate over of Delhi’s batting innings when Ashutosh failed to play a stroke against Ishant, and wicket-keeper Jos Buttler took a grab and appealed for a feasible dismissal from the umpire. However, the umpire didn’t look convinced and ignored the appeal. The hosts had utilised all their DRS so they were bound to settle with the umpire’s verdict. However, Ishant expressed his discontent with Ashutosh and asked the DC batter to admit that he nicked the ball. Noting the 36-year-old in anger, Ashutosh maintained his composure and showed the area on his body, where the ball hit.

Ashutosh’s blazing innings help DC deliver a target of 204 to GT

Ashutosh did a magnificent job while batting at number six for Delhi. The right-handed batter came to bat in the 15th over and produced some fine strokes from his bat. Facing just 19 balls, he smashed 37 runs with five boundaries (two fours and three maximums). His batting effort helped Capitals deliver a target of 204 runs to Titans.

Along with Ashutosh, DC’s other players also batted fiercely. Openers Abhishek Porel and Karun Nair scored 18 (9) and 31 (18) respectively while KL Rahul played with a magnificent strike rate of 200.00 and struck 28 runs off just 14 balls. Tristan Stubbs also chipped in with his 31 off 21. From GT, Prasidh Krishna recorded 4/41 figures after bowling four overs.
