But there has been a recent exciting development.

Recently, Jasprit Bumrah shared a video on his instagram page showing his practice session at the NCA (National Cricket Academy) which has sparked a wave of emotion and excitement amongst both India and Mumbai Indians fans with IPL 2025 around the corner His video captioned ‘progress everyday’ hinted at how he is preparing to return to play again at the highest levels. Jasprit Bumrah recently received several ICC honours at the India vs Pakistan game held at the Dubai International stadium. This included being named in the ICC Men’s test team of the year and the ICC Men’s T20 team of the year and individual honours like ICC Men’s Test player of the year award and the ICC Men’s cricketer of the year!

A memorable year for Bumrah

2024 was an extremely successful and rewarding year for Jasprit Bumrah on many fronts. Along with all these accolades that he received recently, Bumrah also won the T20 World Cup with team India; taking 15 wickets and becoming the 3d highest wicket-taker in the tournament and leading his team to victory. Bumrah also racked up 71 test wickets during the year, which is the highest ever tally by any bowler. Captaining the Indian side in the absence of Rohit Sharma in the 2024-2025 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Bumrah picked up 32 wickets in the entire series claiming the player of the series award as well.

With the 2025 IPL season starting in less than a month, it will be interesting to see whether Bumrah gets fit in time to play for his team who are the 5-times winner of this competition; Mumbai Indians.
