During the highly intense final session of play on day one of the second Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Test match between Australia and India at the Adelaide Oval, Jasprit Bumrah poked Marnus Labuschagne with a playful run towards him. Amidst his extended first spell of bowling, Bumrah was beating the bat of Labuschagne on multiple occasions, but since he wasn’t able to dismiss him, the Indian vice-captain went after the Australian batter with a few verbals.
The incident happened between Jasprit Bumrah and Marnus Labuschagne in the 13th over of the Australian innings after the Indian fast bowler managed to go past the outside edge of the batter, who was yet to get off the mark. It led to Labuschagne seemingly telling Bumrah that he is bowling well, while Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant, who were quite invested in the contest from the cordon, had a smile on their faces.

Australia reached 86/1 at stumps on day one of second Test after bowling out India for 180 runs
Marnus Labuschagne ultimately found a way to get off the mark on the 19th ball of his innings on the bowling of Mohammed Siraj, when the ball went behind square on the leg side off an inside half of the bat. Shortly after, Marnus Labuschagne got into his stride since Jasprit Bumrah was out of the bowling attack for India, and in his second spell, he right-handed batter handled the hostility of the Indian fast bowler quite better than before.
Ultimately, Marnus Labuschagne and Nathan McSweeney batted out the final session of play on day one of the second BGT Test, with Australia reaching 86/1 in 33 overs after bowling out India for just 180 runs in 44.1 overs. Mitchell Starc was exceptional with the ball for Australia, registering the best bowling figures (6/48) of his Test career, to break the back of the Indian batting lineup in the first two sessions of the contest.
