The emotions were high after Royal Challengers Bengaluru lifted their maiden IPL title after defeating Punjab Kings in the final of IPL 2025 in Ahmedabad on June 3. After the historic win, RCB players travelled to Bengaluru to celebrate the trophy with their fans at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, it didn’t turn out to be a great outing for the fans as a stampede took place outside the stadium leading to around 11 deaths and more than 50 people getting injured.
However, unaware of the situation, the RCB players were inside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium with the stadium fully packed. During the celebrations, while the RCB players were taking lap of honour with the trophy, wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma, who was holding the IPL trophy couldn’t have a grip on it as the trophy slipped from his hands and fell on the ground. This also left all the other RCB players laughing. However, the RCB management also claimed that the stopped their event as soon as they got to know about the stampede happening outside the stadium.
