In the main event of the WWE Night of Champions 2025 Premier Live Event (PLE), John Cena retained his WWE Championship after Mr. Money in the Bank Seth Rollins screwed over CM Punk once again. At the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Cena and Punk put on an absolute clinical performance inside the ring before chaos ensued, and it led to the champion taking advantage of the situation to keep his title reign intact.
The highly anticipated WWE Championship match delivered on the grand stage of Night of Champions with John Cena having the ascendancy for the most of it, hitting CM Punk with three Attitude Adjustments, only for the Voice of the Voiceless kicking out at two each time. Since Cena and Punk knew each other’s offence all too well from their time at the top of mountain over a decade ago, the pace of the match at times slowed down quite a bit.
When John Cena wasn’t able to find a way to score a pinfall over CM Punk to retain his championship, he introduced the WWE Championship belt in the title match only for him to decide to not use it this time, seemingly due to the fans getting him to stop. Shortly after, Seth Rollins came down to the ring alongside Paul Heyman and his group members Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker before Penta and Sami Zayn hit the ring to take out the latter.
CM Punk had low blow from John Cena well scouted only for Seth Rollins to screw him over
After John Cena and CM Punk worked together to take out Bronson Reed, it was the Voice of the Voiceless, who put a hand out for the Leader of the Cenation in the middle of the ring to loud cheers from the fans at the Kingdom Arena. Cena shaked the hand of Punk before giving him a hug, but then, the WWE Champion tried to take him out with a low blow, although it was well scouted by the challenger.
Moments later, Seth Rollins got involved in the match, hitting CM Punk with the Money in the Bank briefcase and a curb stomp before John Cena shoved him out of the ring and pinned the challenger, to retain his WWE Championship amidst the chaos.
