England footballer Jude Bellingham made Borussia Dortmund's dramatic win over Bayer Leverkusen in the German league all the more memorable as he tasted his first-ever beer during the match. In a strange turn of events, in which an angry home fan threw a beer at Bellingham, he actually caught it and drank it on the football pitch.

The 18-year-old later revealed that he is "not a fan" of the alcoholic beverage but was happy with his team's 4-3 win in the match and hence decided to taste the liquid. The match saw Dortmund restore parity three times before Erling Haaland's 77th-minute penalty helped them take the decisive lead. Post the goal, the Norweigan goal machine rolled out a celebration in front of the home fans as Bellingham leapt on his back.

It was then that the duo was pelted with beer cups which is when Bellingham caught one of those and drank it before throwing the remainder on the floor. As a result of the performance, Dortmund have leapfrogged Leverkusen into third place at the Bundesliga points tally.

"Perfect day for my first beer… not a fan," Bellingham later tweeted.

Post the match, the youngster even playfully quote-tweeted a video of the incident and captioned it "cheers."

"Last season I think we would lose this kind of match. One of the biggest reasons for the win today is the fans. Thank you to those who travelled for the excellent support. It is much appreciated by all of us!??," he captioned a few pictures from the match on his social media account.

Not everyone pleased with Bellingham's actions

However, Bellingham's action did not please everyone. Sebastian Kehl, who is the head of the club's Licensed Player Division, has criticised his action.

"I told him not to do that," Kehl told Sky Sport Germany after the match.

"I'll tell him again. The boys are of course charged, it was a heated atmosphere," he added.

"It's nice that there are spectators here again, but it was very heated, there were a lot of decisions against us too," he further stated.

Dortmund have won three and lost one of their four matches in the season so far.
