Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic was present in the stands during the match number 32 of the 2024-25 Big Bash League between Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades at the Marvel Stadium. During the match, the 24-time Grand Slam winner was left awestruck with a high catch by Renegades’ Kane Richardson at long on to dismiss Stars' batter Marcus Stoinis. During the eighth over of Melbourne Star’s innings, Stoinis aggressively swinged the bat against Tom Rogers’ full delivery that went high in the air and almost touched the roof of the Marvel Stadium.
However, this wasn’t enough for the ball to go past the boundary line as Kane Richardson who was standing just a few centimetres ahead of the boundary rope at long on did no mistake in grabbing the ball with both hands. After Richardson completed the catch, Novak Djokovic was seen in a state of disbelief as shown in a viral video. Marcus Stoinis got out after scoring 18(10) runs with one four and two sixes.
