Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his team had to deal with bees during a recent training session on Thursday. Sports anchor Aaron Ladd captured the scene of Mahomes running from the bees with the ball in hand, almost like it were a play on the gridiron. The video also shows backup quarterback Shane Buechele and offensive coordinator Matt Nagy trying to swat the insect intruders away.

The video of Mahomes running from the bees as if they were an opposition defense quickly went viral on Twitter, and even led to Mahomes responding by saying he doesn’t want to go against bees. Fans on Twitter noted the athleticism of the star quarterback in dodging while holding onto the ball.


The tweet was cleverly captioned, “With the bee fence closing in, Mahomes escapes the pocket.” The quarterback responded to the tweet by Ladd and said, “I don’t mess with bees.”

Since quitting baseball to focus solely on football, Patrick Mahomes has emerged as one of the biggest stars in the NFL, leading his team the Kansas City Chiefs to the Superbowl in the 2019 and 2022 seasons. He is noted for his athletic ability, speed and graceful movement on the field.
