The 33rd match of IPL 2025 sees Mumbai Indians (MI) hosting Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. Both teams come into this game in search of momentum; MI aiming to maintain consistency and SRH looking to capitalize on their explosive batting lineup. With in-form players like Suryakumar Yadav for MI and Heinrich Klaasen for SRH, fans are expecting a high-octane contest. For the unversed, MI won the toss and chose to bowl first, which could be said to be a bold decision considering SRH’s firepower and Wankhede’s batting friendly surface.
A highlight moment of the match came through when MI’s right-arm leg spinner Karn Sharma’s thumb and part of the palm were seen to be bleeding after an attempted catch. The bowler attempted to grasp Abhishek Sharma’s shot while standing within the circle and ended up picking up the bowl after one bounce off the ground. But the bowler could be seen holding his hand in pain with skipper Pandya also coming to the scene immediately to examine the situation. MI fans will hope that the situation is not too serious and the spinner can continue in the match.
SRH suffer mini collapse after good start
Coming to bat first after losing the toss, SRH got a good start Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head put up an opening partnership of 59 runs in 7.3 overs. Abhishek got out after scoring 40 runs off 28 balls hitting seven boundaries as skipper Hardik Pandya gave first breakthrough to MI.
However, MI didn’t take much time to take a second wicket as Ishan Kishan got out after scoring two runs against Will Jacks. Currently, Travis Head is taking the innings further with Nitish Kumar Reddy as SRH looking to get a winning total.
