West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard became only the second across T20 format and third overall to hit six sixes in an over. Known for his explosive hitting ability, Pollard took Sri Lanka spinner Akila Dananjaya for cleaners in the ongoing first T20I between West Indies and Sri Lanka at Coolidge Cricket Ground, Antigua.

Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh became the first to do so in international cricket (T20I), when he hit six consecutive sixes off Stuart Broad’s over during ICC WT20 in 2007. However, Herschelle Gibbs was the first to achieve this feat in ODIs against Netherlands in 2007.

Pollard's historic moment ball-by-ball

Ball 1: Pollard sends Dananjaya for a six over long-on. He was quick to pick the length to smack it for a maximum.

Ball 2: Dananjaya tries this very full but Pollard, who is very strong in this very area, lofts it straight onto the sightscreen.

Ball 3: Fired at the fullest and Pollard was prompt enough to put this over long-off.

Ball 4: This goes over deep mid-wicket. Pollard quickly spots the wrong-un to send it for a maximum.

Ball 5: A leg-break by Dananjaya and Pollard puts it over long-on.

Ball 6: Dananjaya puts this one on the pads, but Pollard smashes it over mid-wicket and bows down in style.

Akila Dananjaya takes a hat-trick

Sri Lanka spinner just before getting hit off six consecutive sixes in an over by Kieron Pollard, took a hat-trick. Dananjaya dismissed Evin Lewis, Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran off consecutive deliveries during the first T20I.

The 27-year-old in his second over of the game, made this match-winning contribution to put Sri Lankans on top. However, in his very next over West Indies skipper hit him off 6 sixes in an over. Dananjaya ended the innings with 4-0-62-3, as West Indies went on to beat Sri Lanka by four wickets in the first of the three T20Is.
