West Indian all-rounder Kieron Pollard gives Pakistan’s Abdullah Shafique a mocking send-off after dismissing in PSL 2023. During the game between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans, Shafique was batting brilliantly as he stabilised the innings for Lahore after losing opener Fakhar Zaman after just three balls.

Abdullah Shafique batted well with Mirza Tahir Baig and Sam Billings as the Qalandars got back into the game. Facing Pollard, the 23-year-old batter smashed a four on the first ball. Retaliating to this boundary, the West Indian all-rounder bowled a full ball with was smashed back at him. Pollard took a brilliant reflexive catch and showed Shafique where the dressing room was after getting him out.

But despite Shafique’s wicket, the  Lahore Qalandars continued batting brilliantly and posted a score of 180 runs in their 20 overs. Other than Shafique, English wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings top-scored for the Qalandars with 54 in 35 balls. Billings also smashed six fours and two sixes. Sikander Raza and David Wiese also played two blistering cameos as they combined to score 29 in 20 balls. 


Whereas for the Sultans, Pollard picked up two wickets in his two-over spell while giving away just 16 runs. His other wicket was Billings, who trapped plumb in front of the off stump as he tried to smash the West Indian. Abbas Afridi, Anwar Ali and Ihsanullah also picked up two wickets each.
