On Saturday, February 24, Kieron Pollard pulled off a stunning one-handed catch for Karachi Kings against the defending champions Lahore Qalandars in the PSL 2024, the premier franchise T20 tournament in Pakistan. The exploits in the field from the former West Indies cricketer were crucial for the Kings to restrict the Qalandars to a manageable score of 175/6.

The catch happened in the 13th over of the Lahore Qalandars' batting innings, when Jahandad Khan clubbed the short delivery from Mir Hamza in the air toward the long-off boundary. Kieron Pollard, who was stationed in the area, timed his jump to perfection to grab hold of the ball with his right hand, and then, he managed to keep his balance to complete the catch safely.

Earlier in the Qalandars' batting innings, Kieron Pollard also took another catch, which was comparatively easier than the one-hander, to send Ahsan Hafeez back into the pavilion off the bowling of Hasan Ali. However, the Kings were unable to dismiss the opener Sahibzada Farhan through their bowling effort, who scored 72 off 45 with four fours and four maximums.

The quick-fire 20s from Rassie van der Dussen, Shai Hope, and George Linde at different stages of the Lahore Qalandars innings allowed Sahibzada Farhan to take his team around the par score. The bowling lineup of the Qalandars have to pull their socks up in their bowling innings of the Kings, to ensure that they win their first match in the PSL 2024 in their fourth attempt.
