The third and final ODI of the three-match series between India and Australia is underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Australia captain Steve Smith won the toss and opted to bat first. The decision was backed well by the Australian opening pair of Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head as the duo put up a 68-run partnership for the first wicket. However, Hardik Pandya took three wickets in quick succession to bring India back into the game.
Kuldeep Yadav then also joined the party as he dismissed David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne in quick successions. Axar Patel got the best out of Marcus Stoinis and it was Yadav’s turn again. The chinaman bowler took the opportunity to provide India with another breakthrough. While Yadav got his first two wickets with batters trying to take him on, the India spinner stunned Alex Carey with an absolute ripper.
Yadav bowled a conventional delivery for a chinaman bowler which pitched outside the leg stump. But it turned a long way to beat Carey’s outside edge who was defending on the back foot and hit the off-stump. The batter was left awestruck at this delivery from Yadav. Meanwhile, the commentators were also pretty impressed with Yadav.
