Ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the officials conducted a special drill at the newly renovated Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, to catch the pitch invaders for ensuring player security and welfare during the high stakes event. The viral video is reportedly from a few days ago, showcasing the importance of the upcoming ICC tournament for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which is something they get to host after a long wait of 29 years.
Notably, the Champions Trophy 2025 is the first ICC tournament hosted by Pakistan after the ODI World Cup 1996, which was won by the Sri Lankan cricket team after defeating Australia in the coveted final at the Gaddafi Stadium. Since then, there was a time for more than a decade when Pakistan didn’t play any international matches in their home land, while no ICC tournaments were organised there either.
PCB are working around the clock to make Champions Trophy smooth tournament for players and fans
In the short clip shared on Instagram, from the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the security personnel could be seen running as fast as possible onto the field, and they worked together as a team to catch mock pitch invaders before taking them out of the playing area. There were multiple groups of security personnel doing the same thing at the same time, showing how adept and ready they are for the upcoming ICC tournament.

Just a day later, the Indian cricket team will start their campaign in the tournament against Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in a match from the aforementioned group.
The highly anticipated India versus Pakistan clash is set to go down in Dubai on Sunday, February 23, which will have a huge bearing as to which team will make it through to the semi-final stage of the tournament.
