Star Argentina footballer and one of the greats of the game, Lionel Messi, who was in the limelight after he missed the MLS All-Star match, was spotted at Coldplay’s latest concert. The 38-year-old was sidelined from the pitch and handed one-match suspension alongside teammate Jordi Alba, which resulted in him missing Inter Miami’s game against FC Cincinnati at the Chase Stadium, which ended in a goalless draw.
While he watched the game from the sidelines, later, he was spotted enjoying Coldplay’s final US show on their Music of Spheres World Tour at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Sunday night. Messi was seen alongside his wife Antonela Roccuzzo and their three children, attending the much-hyped Coldplay concert.

As the Argentine icon made headlines on the jumbotron during the concert, the crowd erupted into loud chants of “Messi! Messi! Messi!”. Soon afterwards, the band’s lead singer Chris Martin began, “Welcome to my beautiful brother," waving acknowledging the loud reception. “You and your wife are looking so fine. Thanks for coming today to see our band play. The No.1 sportsperson of all time," Martin continued, hailing him as the No.1 sportsperson.

Notably, it wasn’t Messi’s first Coldplay concert experience as the 38-year-old is known to be an ardent fan of the band and had previously attended their concerts in May 2023 while being in Barcelona. Inter Miami will next return to action when they take on Atlas in the Leagues Cup on Thursday, July 31 from 5:00 am IST onwards.
