Ahead of the first game of the season, Lucknow’s coaching staff was seen grooving to the tunes of Daler Mehndi’s superhit song ‘Haayo Rabba’. The video was shared by Lucknow Super Giants’ social media channels, along with a caption, “The best thing you’ll see today.” Notably, Justin Langer succeeded Andy Flower as the head coach of the franchise.
Jonty Rhodes, on the other hand, was appointed as the fielding coach of the KL Rahul-led franchise. Former Proteas all-rounder, Lance Klusener, became a part of the squad as an assistant coach. The team underwent several changes, including Gautam Gambhir stepping down from the role of mentor to join his former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL 2024.
The squad will have KL Rahul leading the side, who will aim to guide the side to win their first-ever IPL trophy after having reached the eliminator stage in the last two seasons. Talking about their matches, after playing against Rajasthan in Jaipur, LSG will host Punjab Kings at home on March 30, which will be followed by a clash against the RCB in Bengaluru and then, Gujarat Titans in Lucknow.
